In the Biharugra area, there has been freshwater pond fish production since 1913. As a result of the gradual increase of the lake area, the Farm gained its current extent in the 1960s. The Company “Biharugrai Halgazdaság Kft” was founded in 1998. In April 2011 the ownership of the Company and the management of production changed. Fish production in accordance with good lake management practice has started again from this date. In the fish ponds, operated by the Company, a unique, extensive fish production technology was introduced and applied, which ensures the preservation of nature, conservation of values and effective, sustainable management in a way that is adapted to the characteristics of the area and the aspects of nature conservation. That technology has been proven over the past 10 years.
